Take the Equity Challenge: Learn, Reflect, Act

At Rhode Island Pride, we believe that Pride isn’t just a celebration—it’s about action, justice, and building a more equitable future for all. That’s why we’re proud to support the Equity Challenge, a statewide initiative led by United Way of Rhode Island (UWRI). Kevin Matta who leads this project explains: “During a time of uncertainty and division, UWRI aims to help bring together individuals and organizations towards a greater understanding around the practices underlying humanity, respect, and inclusion.”

This self-guided challenge offers daily prompts, articles, videos, and activities that explore topics ranging from housing and education to LGBTQIA+ justice and intersectionality. Whether you’re new to equity work or continuing your journey, the Equity Challenge helps connect learning with meaningful action.

This year, the Equity Challenge goes even further with Pop-Up Experiences—live, in-person events that bring the learning to life through storytelling, community conversation and engagement. These events offer a chance to connect, reflect, and take meaningful steps together toward equity in Rhode Island.

Let’s rise to the challenge as a community that believes in visibility, dignity, and justice for all.
